Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night John 3:1-2a NIV

Did Nicodemus come to Jesus of his own accord, or was he sent by his fellow Pharisees? We cannot know for sure. Some say he came at night so his fellow Pharisees would not know that he went to visit Jesus. But maybe he went at night because he thought he would be more likely to be able to meet Him as there would be less of a chance of Jesus being surrounded by other people. I believe He went of his own choice. Whichever, through the meeting with Christ his heart began to change. Yes, it took time for him to better understand but his heart was open to what Jesus had to say. So, it goes with each of us as well. If our heart is open in meeting Christ, then our life will be changed.
