Amongst the heard grazing
Protected by the shepherd
Unfortunately doubt starts to seep in
Doubting yourself
Struggling and confused
You see the other sheep so strong in faith
A feeling of being out of place
Not realizing how much the shepherd loves you.
So lost in thought your feet start to wander
So many obstacles, so many dangers
Exhausted from the weight.
But the shepherd notices your absence
Knowing the other sheep will be fine
He leaves in search of you
That one lost sheep
He climbs the obstacles
Calling your name
Never stopping until you are safe.
Your exhausting thoughts weighing you down
I am not good enough
I am not strong enough
I don’t belong
Then you hear your name
You look up
There he is in the distance running to your aid.
Overwhelmed with the love he has
He reaches you.
You are my sheep he says
There is no obstacle that can stop me from finding you
I will climb every mountain
Walk every road
Search endlessly
Until I find you.
I will not stop until I know you are safe
Don’t worry about those things
Because I chose you.
He lifts you up on his shoulders
Bearing the weight for you
Your exhaustion relieved
Because he will carry you the rest of the way
Back to the others
Where you belong
Under his protection
Where you can always hear his call.
He is your loving shepherd
He chose you.
