Living The Surrendered Life

A Living Sacrifice to God

Romans 12:1-8  1And so, dear brothers and sisters,  I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable.  This is truly the way to worship him.  2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

3Because of the privilege and authority  God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are . Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.  4Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5so it is with Christ’s body.  We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.

6In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.  So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.  7If your gift is serving others, serve them well.  If you are a teacher, teach well.  8If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging.  If it is giving, give generously.  If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously.  And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.  New Living Translation

Everything the Lord teaches me, and everything He shows me, I am so grateful..  He perfects all things that concern me.  He perfects all things that concerns His Church, and He has joined us together to be a profound awesome body; by His grace, and for the Father’s glory.

Just as the Savior came in obedience (He yielded His will to the Father), and became a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins; so are we to walk daily.  Yielding our will, and presenting our bodies (ourselves) as a living sacrifice daily.  As F. B. Meyers states in: “Through the Bible Day by Day,” “It is easier to die once for God than to live always the surrendered life.  But nothing so pleases God (the Father) as daily surrender, the sacrificed and yielded will tied by cords to His altar.  Such an attitude is the only reasonable one we can assume.  If God be all we profess to believe, He is worthy of all we are.” 

 Keeping this ever at the forefront of your minds, we must walk in the Spirit.  “For the Life of the Spirit of God in Christ has made us free from the Law of Sin and Death.  If we are walking in the Spirit our yielded members seek after the fulfillment of truly walking in the Spirit and fulfilling the measure of faith (“a degree of faith, a purpose designed for service”) He has given us, which is to accomplish His will.  Remember this truth, and walk in it daily.  Be encouraged in this truth and remind each other of  it.  For we are the body of Christ, and He has by His grace given us gifts to further His Kingdom.  It is not to be buried or hidden.  The measure of faith by the grace of God was given for a reason and a purpose.  Remember, “we are mutually dependent upon each other”.  AMP Version

Please, quickly lay aside the things that have your attention (those worldly things that don’t please our Savior).  As true saints, desire to do the will of the Father, and of Christ, just as our Savior desired and fulfilled the Father’s will (who sent Him).  He also sends us daily to do His will.

Be blessed.  Remember, surrender daily.  Fulfill the LORD’s  design for you in the Body of Christ.  We need each other.  The body can only function as one if we were to recognize the importance of this, and walk in this  truth; oh, my!  My heart’s desire is to see in my lifetime, the fulfillment of the Church functioning as one.  I know that it will be because Jesus (Yeshua) prayed this prayer; to the Father, that we might be one, just as He and the Father are one. 

20“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.  21I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you.  And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

22“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.  23I am in them and you are in me.  May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.  John 17:20-22 New Living Translation

What a glorious church we are, walking and moving as one body, following His commandments, not adding or taking away from His teachings or His commandments.  So exciting.
