Restless

Is everything that’s old-fashioned necessarily bad?
Well, sometimes out-of-date items or ways of doing things
may be not the best.
However, new things are not automatically good.
In fact some new ideas, inventions, products, can be very
bad and even dangerous.

So what about the church? Are new church things always
good? Far from it.
I think that some recent changes can be almost blasphemous
and destructive. They can be very unsettling and can make
many Christians feel restless.

However, that’s no new situation for God to handle.
About 2,500 years ago he used the prophet Jeremiah to
address the unsettled and troubled tribe of Judah.

“Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths,
where the good way is, and walk in it. Then you will find
rest for your souls.”
Jeremiah 6:16

Maybe we need to get back on the old paths!
