Isaiah 6:5
[5] Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the lord of Heaven’s Armies.” New Living Translation NLT.
The introductory verse quoted above is the words of Prophet Isaiah when he saw three things:
1. The Lord in His glory.
He has been a prophet of God for some years delivering powerful messages from God to His people. He received and delivered messages from God Who he knew very little about if he knew anything about Him. The day he saw Him in His majesty, everything changed for the better.
2 He also saw his nakedness.
Prophet Isaiah saw, in addition to God's majesty, his filthiness. He has been pointing out the sins of other people without recognizing any of his sins. However, on a noticeable day, he saw his true picture.
3. The nakedness of people around him.
The third thing he saw was the filthiness of the people among whom he was living. He recognized that their lips were dirty.
He then declared his doom because of discrepancies between the glory of the Lord and his filthiness. Do you realize something in the episode? He did not immediately declare woe unto those who surrounded him. He tackled himself before anyone else.
Beloved reader, people of filthy lips may have said many unprintable things about you and those that are yours. This may have created a house of bitterness in you. That is, your heart may have become a house where bitterness reigns. Please, note that the bitterness you harbor does more harm than good to your well-being.
Deal with yourself first. If you love yourself, pull down that house of bitterness in your heart and it shall be well with you.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
