Some people just can’t let go of the past
Wasting time wishing what once was could always last
Life moves far too fast to sit there and dwell
That next opportunity ringing may be far better so don’t miss the bell

We have to rise up and above what may have been
Learn from what use to be in order to get that feeling again
Different elements of time are needed to move on understandably
Just don’t let it paralyze you to the point of becoming a casualty

Reminiscing about the words that were once said
Can stir up a plethora of events that leave your progress dead
Being encompassed in the framework of questioning what was real
Often times will shred away the ability to actually feel

The war on your mind isn’t one to take lightly
It is difficult enough to battle what is occurring presently
Don’t allow the past to amplify the trauma
As the future is hopeful that you’ll remove the drama

If others try to force you into revisiting the pain
And you’re not comfortable do your best to abstain
What’s done is done and can’t be changed
So shift the outlook in order to be better equipped for the next page
