Look Inside First      Jane H. Young

 I saw an old house while traveling the other day and I thought, that house looks pretty shabby outside but you know it could be absolutely beautiful on the inside. It can be the same with people, they may be unkept in appearance but their heart may be filled with Gods love, wisdom, and knowledge.

 Our problem is we  judge people by the way they look and don’t take  the time to even try and get acquainted with them let alone see their hearts.  We probably miss out on a lot of blessings by pre-judging people.

 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."”
John7:24 NASB

 God truly knows what a person is like on the inside. He doesn’t look at our outward appearance first, He is mostly concerned with what’s in our hearts. How often do we ignore those at work, church, or our neighborhood just because of the way they look or the way they dress.

We have already formed an opinion without even trying to get to know that person,  none of us would want to have judgement passed on us without a chance to defend ourselves.

 “Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.”
Luke 6:31-32 NASB

There are a lot of hurting people that have been ignored in life just because of their appearance. Just think about how awful that really is, we are better then that. Let’s change things, by making it a priority  to treat everyone with a God kind of love. 

 Prayer: Thank you Father you don’t pass by us and keep going according to our position in this life. You take the time to stop and get to know us and who we really are. Lord help me to  take time to get to know people and not look at them with a preconceived idea of who I think they are.
