It is in the plans of God that His people be happy and rejoice. Yet, everything must be done in moderation. This becomes very necessary when a great miracle is received from the Lord. Your emotional feelings must be brought under check. Otherwise, there is a tendency to expose your secrets.

Pay attention to the fact that there is no level of attainment in life where this cannot happen. Read this about a prominent king who knew his Lord and served Him faithfully:

"[12]Soon after this, Merodach-baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent Hezekiah his best wishes and a gift, for he had heard that Hezekiah had been very sick.
[13]Hezekiah received the Babylonian envoys and showed them everything in his treasure-houses—the silver, the gold, the spices, and the aromatic oils. He also took them to see his armory and showed them everything in his royal treasuries! There was nothing in his palace or kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them." 2 Kings 20. New Living Translation, NLT.
Note that he did this when he was in a joyful mood. He was rejoicing over recovering from a sickness that almost claimed his life. At that time, he threw caution into the air.

He exposed all his secrets to potential enemies.
[14]Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked him, “What did those men want? Where were they from?”Hezekiah replied, “They came from the distant land of Babylon.”
[15]“What did they see in your palace?” Isaiah asked.“They saw everything,” Hezekiah replied. “I showed them everything I own—all my royal treasuries.”

What was the outcome? The Prophet made it known to the king that those envoys who have seen those treasures would come to take them away in the future, during the reign of Hezekiah's son. He created a trouble for incoming generation to take care of.

Therefore, it is important for you to control your emotional whenever you are happy. This will prevent you from putting yourself, household or coming generation in trouble. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
