Spiritual Blindness And How You Hear

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding Proverbs 4:7

Mark 4:24-25 He said to them, “A lamp is not brought in to be put under a basket or under a bed, is it? Is it not [brought in] to be put on the lampstand? For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been kept secret, but that it would come to light [that is, things are hidden only temporarily, until the appropriate time comes for them to be known]. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear and heed My words.” Then He said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond]--and more will be given to you besides. For whoever has [a teachable heart], to him more [understanding] will be given; and whoever does not have [a yearning for truth], even what he has will be taken away from him.” Amplified Version

My prayer is: that this message brings comfort to the reader. Hear what the Word of the Lord is saying to His church. His word; the scripture is life, and peace. Listen intently to what He says for He never changes. 

Listen carefully, all you who kindle your own fire [devising your own man-made plan of salvation],
Who surround yourselves with torches,
Walk by the light of your [self-made] fire,
And among the torches that you have set ablaze.
But this you will have from My hand: You will lie down in [a place of] torment.
Isaiah 50:11 Amplified Version

Don’t stumble at the darkness of your understanding. Grab hold to the Truth and Life. Follow Him. For it is in Him we live and move and have our being. These words may sound very stern, and maybe difficult and hard for some to read. 

So take to heart the Master’s teachings and His commandments. They have not and will not change.  “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-20 

Do You Know the Master’s Voice?

The following refers to the story of the blind man that Yeshua healed, who was thrown out of the synagogue because of his righteous testimony.
John 9:35-41 When Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, He found the man and said, (this is an indication, that Jesus must had searched for him when He had heard of what had transpired (A clear reference of how the good shepherd goes and searches for his own). He will leave the 99 to recover and receive the one lost, and brings him back into the sheepfold.)  “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” “Who is He, Sir?” he replied. “Tell me so that I may believe in Him.” “You have already seen Him,” Jesus answered. “He is the One speaking with you.” “Lord, I believe,” he said. And he worshiped Jesus. (Apparently, he knew and recognized the Saviors voice. Because the first time that he heard his voice, he was blind, but in his seeing he recognized His voice.)
Then Jesus declared, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind may see and those who see may become blind.” (In His statement, he made a clear distinction between the righteousness of faith in Christ; which brings sight to the blind and eternal life to those who receive Him, and self-righteousness; which brings death and loss. Refer to Isaiah 50:11 ).

Some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard this, and they asked Him, “Are we blind too?” “If you were blind,” Jesus replied, “you would not be guilty of sin. But since you claim you can see, your guilt remains.”

John 10:1-5 “Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber. But the one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen for his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will flee from him because they do not recognize his voice.” Berean Study Bible

In the above story of the blind man who; was given sight. Jesus received him into the Father’s Kingdom. How is that you say? Because he recognized His voice. He acknowledged Him as the Son of Man (Savior and Messiah). He humbled himself and followed Him. He excepts no less from us.
