Hearing
It is not only an easy thing but a common one to criticize and condemn what one does not understand. It is possible to hear about someone or something but the information may be right or wrong. When the information is right, it can be distorted or incomplete or over exaggerated. Not only that, you may not be able to relate with a person you have not heard.
Before you can be closer to or have anything to do with a man, you have to hear about him and what he is up to.
Do you know that the same holds for the Lord your God? Some people have not heard about Him, how then can they relate with Him?
It is one thing to hear about Him, it is another to have enough and right information about Him.

Seeing: To hear about God is good but it is important to see Him to be able to describe Him vividly. You are in a better position to say more right thing about Him than the time when you rely on "they said...". Job the righteous has this to say,
Job 42:5-6
[5]I had only heard about you before,
but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
[6]I take back everything I said,
and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”
When you see God, the experience is different. You humble yourself and repent of your sins. By the time you see Him, you see His glory and your filthiness, you surely bow.
The difference is clear!

Knowing: Knowing the Lord God is better than merely seeing Him. When you know Him, you are familiar with Him. You will understand many things about Him. You will know His ways and acts. You will know what He loves and hates. What pleases Him will not be strange to you.
Because king Pharaoh did not know God, he chose not to obey Him by setting His people free. In his words,
"Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go. Exodus 5:2.
From the king's statement, if he had known Him, he would not have been obstinate, continuing in his sin.
All those who hear about Him, see Him, know Him and abide in Him do not act wrongly. They do not sin against Him because they know very well that He has the power to punish them. The Scriptures disclose,
"Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him." 1 John 3:6 King James version.
1 John 3:6

Benefits :
It is of great benefits to hear, see and know God. No one can give you a comprehensive account of God. Whatever you hear about Him is a minute part of Who He is. When you see Him and know Him, it will be possible to be in Him and be rooted too. You will be in a better position to declare the truth about Him.
Queen Sheba is an example here. The Holy Bible reports her when she saw the glory of king Solomon in 1 Kings 10,
"[6]She exclaimed to the king, “Everything I heard in my country about your achievements and wisdom is true!
[7]I didn’t believe what was said until I arrived here and saw it with my own eyes. In fact, I had not heard the half of it! Your wisdom and prosperity are far beyond what I was told.
[8]How happy your people must be! What a privilege for your officials to stand here day after day, listening to your wisdom!"
If a woman can utter those words about a man's glory, will you agree with me that you have a better testimony if you know the Lord and abide in Him?
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
