Heart Set On Worldly Affairs

Seldom shall people come to hear,

Let alone they’ll even bother to be near

Of him whose words & life do not tie,

Who preaches the truth, but lives in the lie

They’re standing near the stairs that goes to heaven,

Preaching to all that ‘all should ascent’,

Yet they themselves have their heart set on worldly affairs,

The truth is that - they themselves are on the descent.

Repent O ye soul, get right with God.

For He can see through our very heart,

Nothing is hidden from the Creator’s eyes

He knows our end even from the start

Don’t hide from Him, rather hide in Him,

May the purest blood of the Lamb cleanse us now,

May our lives tie with God’s Word that we preach,

May we be faithful to Him and keep our vow.

Let’s endeavor every day to be the salt and light,

Which our Master from us does always desire,

To be like Christ in our words and deeds,

To this may our soul always aspire.
