SCRIPTURE

Psalm 139:14, 16 – “I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there were none of them.”

If the scale is up, then I know the Lord made me fearfully, scared to death that I would over-indulge in the fruit of the land and bust at the seams. If the scale is down a pound or two, then I consider how wonderfully made I am and how marvelous it is that He designed me to lose weight! If the scale is up, I don’t like myself as much. If the scale is down, I am a wonderful person!
Thank God that He is not as fickle as we. He is love and He admires us regardless of whether our weight is up or down today. When we learn to love ourselves as God does, it becomes easier to forgive ourselves for whatever behaviors may have caused the scale to reflect those ghastly numbers. We have been created with care, with thought, with plans, and yet with imperfections. God’s master design left room for the extra weight, perhaps to teach us persistence and patience. Knowing we have an admirer from on High can help us to accept with grace the minor ups and downs of weight loss.
How often do you think of yourself as a “marvelous work”? The intricacies of your inner organs, your every feature and each comely or homely characteristic helps to make up this marvelous work. God is an artist and He finds you adorable. Well, maybe He finds you beautiful, gorgeous, unique, one-of-a-kind, or cute. You are a limited edition, numbered and counted, with or without the extra poundage! You are ma-va-les, darling! The artist is happy with his work. Are you?

Wonderful! That's part of that "Good News" that I firmly believe He wants us to hear --- we aren't just loved, we are adored! Your article is like a hug straight from heaven!
