I was taught to be the Lighthouse, circulating, 
Watching, as the Ocean roared.
Through it's strength, dragging sand into it's maelstrom. 
Waves, crashing back and forth, 
Leaving it's sediment on the land.

I was taught to be the Teacher, 
In a formal classroom. 
My chalk scraping the minds of my students,
Observing a speck of imagination. 

I was taught to be the Chef.
Producing wholesome food to fill the 
Hunger which is prevalent in today's society. 

I was taught to be the Artist,
My studio aligned with canvasses,
An array of paints, brushes, clay, creativity.

I was taught to be the emotion. 
That pulses like you wouldn't believe!
I have made it my Altar, my chamber.
I was taught you have to burn,
Before you shine, in so many places..
Who taught me?
