1 Peter 1:6-9 (KJV) Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
If I were to leave you with a thought , it would simply be your faith will be tested. Your faith will be tested.
As believers in Christ, there is going to come a time when your faith will be tested. Everything you believe and shout about is going to be tested. No Matter how much you speak in tongues, no matter how much Holy Ghost you have, your faith will be tested. I've been in the faith for quite some time and preaching for a little while yet, my faith has been tested. Amen, I feel as though I have some experience to talk about being tested.
My entire Christian life has been filled with many tests. (Slight pause). Some tests I passed and some I failed. Yet despite of it all, the Lord has been exceedingly merciful to me and I'm grateful.
It's important that we go through the test. Amen, I believe the test is to see if we believe what we say we believe. There will be times in your life when you will doubt your faith. There will be times when you think you can't do this anymore. There may even be times when you're going through something and you ask yourself does God really care. You're praying and trying to live right yet, your problems are still there.
You look at other believers and they seem to be so blessed and you become envious. You wonder if they ever went through anything like you're going through and you start to doubt. The truth of the matter is that we all must be tested and we all go through different things in our lives. No one ever said life would be easy.
We sing a song that's called " everything is going to be alright." And it's true everything will be alright, but not overnight. In the beginning, you may have to go through some pain, some hurt, some resentment, some heartache, and some disappointment. Some of the people who you loved and trusted turned out to be the same ones who stabbed you in your back and then have the nerve to act like they didn't do anything wrong (Slight pause). I speak from some success and a whole lot of failure. I speak from experience, I speak from pain, but I also speak from truth.
Your faith will be tested. Tests are necessary to help us develop the spiritual disciplines in order to make us strong soldiers for Jesus Christ. I'm not saying that you have to always go through something amen, but there may come a time in your life where you will. All you got to do is keep on living.
These last couple of years have been life-changing years. And if you think that the worst is behind us, you haven't seen anything yet.
Matthew 24:6-8 says: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows. It's just the beginning. The crime rate all over the world is increasing. It seems as if people are starting to lose their minds. An increase in unemployment contributes to an increase in crime.
This Christian life requires the saint of God to be strong. We have to be strong in our trials, and strong in our temptations. The trial is coming whether we're ready for it or not, whether we want to deal with it or not. Or maybe I'm just talking to myself. We need peace and faith that passes all understanding. A peace and a faith that the world cannot comprehend.
The times that we're facing, are not for the faint of heart. But for the faith of the bold, the faith of the courageous. This faith requires you to step out while others refuse to move their feet. Your faith will be tested by the issues of life and also your flesh.
Your faith is not only what you believe. It's a reflection of how you live. Do you believe what you say you believe? Do you live what you say you believe? Are you willing to die for what you say you believe? Your faith will be tested.
Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Whether we want it or not, whether we're ready or not he's coming. As the world grows darker and darker, our faith will be tested more and more. Not only will our faith IN God be tested, but our faith TO God will be tested.
In third world countries around the world, Christian’s faith in God are being tested. Churches are being shut down and livelihoods are being compromised. God must allow us to be tested.
We read the story of Job and how he was blessed beyond measure. But the devil had a conversation with the Lord and the Lord allowed the devil to test Job's faith. Job lost his family, his possessions and even his health. His wife came unto him and said curse God and die. Although Job was in place of despair, he continued to stay strong in the power of his faith. As a result, he received a multifold of blessings.
2 Corinthians 5:7 says: For we walk by faith, not by sight.
We understand that faith that is not seen is temporal but faith that is not seen is eternal. Never give up. Life can go from zero to one hundred real quick. This life requires you to faith it until you make it. Be blessed.
