BEAUTY IN CHAOS

Scorching earth
Nothing but black burning lands
Where is the justification for war
One might ask
If no one wins and everybody loses

Victory in battle is only a delusion
It only adds to the disastrous confusion
One step forward but ten steps back
So it is with each military attack

War is the only language
That brings chaos, and worldly governments understand
For without it, they will die in poverty and disgrace

Yet there is beauty in all of this chaos
With one little wild flower growing among the black burning lands
And with the rainbow shining against the black scorched sky

Jesus Christ the Author of our faith
Is the Keeper of our everlasting peace
In Him is our assurance
That even in death we have the victory

Let us therefore not run to and fro
If all we see is darkness and dust
And all we hear are rumours and gloom
For even a wild flower can bloom
In the dark black earth and dust
