Scriptural references:

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do – Galatians 5:17

You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God – James 4:4

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be – Romans 8:7

He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil – 1 John 3:8

Whoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God – 1 John 3:9

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith – 1 John 5:4

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death – Romans 8:2

Word of the LORD:

Another Easter celebration draws near and in this season, once again we remember the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. He paid the ultimate price by dying for us so that we may have eternal life. He became poor that we may become rich. He became sin on the cross that we may become the righteousness of God. And He became the son of man that we may become sons of God. If you are saved and washed by the blood of Jesus Christ now, you were not always like that. There was a time, you were living in sin and you were far away from God. There was a barrier between you and God because you were living in carnality and because you were in the world. Romans 8:7, James 4:4 and 1 John 3:8 explains this. Romans 8:7 says, “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”. James 4:4 says, “….friendship with the world is enmity with God ….” And 1 John 3:8 says, “He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. The barrier was there because as a sinful man you could not understand the things of God due to the power of the flesh. Galatians 5:17 further explains this. For it says, “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do”. But thank God for salvation through Christ Jesus. Romans 8:2 explains the freedom (liberty) you got by accepting Jesus. For it says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death”. Through the process of new birth, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has liberated you. And you began to experience the kind of victory in 1 John 5:4 and 1 John 3:9 which says, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith”. And “Whoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” respectively. So now in Christ Jesus, you have not only overcome the world but you have also overcome sin. Glory be to GOD! The LORD has given you victory and freedom. And you will keep winning and winning and winning in Jesus name. Ever forward. backward never in Jesus name. Let somebody shout, Thank you, JESUS! Halleluyah!! Amen!!!

Prayer:

Father GOD, thank you for the victory and freedom you purchased for me through the death and resurrection of your son, Jesus Christ. Through the sacrifice on the cross, my life has been made better. I ask that you continually give me victory in all my endeavours. I pray with thanksgiving in Jesus name.
