I went upon the hill of thought
And pondered for a while
And looked around to all below
And tried to find a smile

Just a show of inner peace
Deep down in the soul
The joy of heaven beaming forth
That was my journeys goal

I looked at one and then another
And listened as they spoke
To see if real sincerity reigned
Or was it all a joke

Just a word or two to say
But silenced by those things
A louder voice within the soul
With louder Clarion rings

Can anyone see - Does anyone know
How hard it is to hide within a soul
The smile I’m giving you
And nods and all, it’s way too small

I need a higher reason
To live before I die
I seek a higher plain
To soar to when I cry

All emptiness I crave
To leave me before I die
Fill my soul O Spirit of God
Ere the grave draws nigh.
