Author requests article critique

Have you ever thought about the fact that there is no success outside the will of God and there is no failure within the will of God.

I was recently reminded of this truth by the late Bob Jones Sr.

If you ponder that carefully you might shout out an amen!

Man is a failure. Always has been.

Think about this fact that Adam, as the first man, was a murderer.

Eve, as the first woman God ever made, was the mother of a murderer...Cain.

Do you call that success?

Adam and Eve brought misery and death to the whole human race.

"For by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned." Romans 5:12

This is the word of God whether you believe it or not.

The plain fact today is that too many people don't believe this and so they live their lives as though God doesn't exist.

The Bible calls such people fools because the "fool hath said in his heart there is no God." Psalm 14:1

The fool believes like most humanists: "No deity will save us; we must save ourselves.

Promises of immortal salvation or fear of eternal damnation are both illusory and harmful. They distract humans from present concerns, from self-actualization, and from rectifying social injustices."

The above statement is found in the Humanist Manifesto of 1973.

This statement is the most foolish I have ever heard (although it sounds reasonable to many unbelievers) and it comes from the mouths of those who do not know God their Creator.

Such people can not be considered successful regardless of how rich they might be in material goods or regardless of how high

their IQ's.

These people are the walking dead, that is, they are spiritually dead in trespasses and sins and can not in God's eyes be considered successful.

Now where do we go from here now that we have discovered the mess we're in?

There's never been a greater mess than the one we are now in because of sin.

The world is on the brink of destruction financially speaking at least.

Today we find ourselves in a world that is a moral sewer full of nasty sludge.

The world is full of lies and deceptions regarding many many things including the Covid "gene therapy" death jab that is being forced upon unwilling subjects, the mask mandates and much more.

The world is full of deception when it comes to how the world came into existence.

This is why we are told in 1 John 15. "Love NOT the world neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.¹⁶For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.¹⁷And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:15-17)

That man or woman who abides forever is a success because they've done the will of God by believing the gospel.

Oh, you can achieve many desirable things in this life and still be a failure and you can have almost nothing and be a success.

How is this possible?

Well, God's ways are not our ways and neither are his thought our thoughts.

Government schools (public schools) and I was unfortunate enough to attend one, keep teaching the lie of evolution and they say that man is an animal.

These schools removed God a long time ago and so they should never be part of the Christian's source of instruction or education.

"Blessed is the man that walketh NOT in the counsel of the ungodly." Psalm 1

They who follow ungodly counsel do not have God's blessing upon them.

Isn't that what the Bible says?

Oh, I hear someone say but what about the progress man has made over the centuries?

He has invented great things and discovered cures for diseases.

Consider the military aircraft and missles that travel at the speed of sound and faster.

With what precision do they hit their target.

Isn't this a great accomplishment?

Man has built tall buildings by which to erect his offices and he has created technology to make life easier.

Man has built great cities with sophisticated systems for

transporting water and electricity.

And so he has.

Sodom and Gomorrah was perhaps a great city in its time or at least it appeared so to Lot who was Abraham's nephew but what happened as the result of man's sin?

God brought judgment by raining fire and brimstone upon the

inhabitants except for Lot, his wife and two daughters.

We read in Jude verse 7 "Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."

In one day a great city was destroyed because of man's wickedness
and rebellion.

Everything man has ever touched is contaminated by sin.

How could it be anything less seeing that man himself is by nature

full of sin?

The Bible teaches that some day before the Lord returns the world will have corrupted itself like in the days of Noah and we're getting closer to that day of judgment wherein the works of man will be burned up.

If there is anything in man that is worthy of praise it is God that worketh in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. (Phil.

2:13)

Strive to live in expectation of that day and be prepared to

face God.

Are your garments holy and is your heart pure?

If not, then you will be ashamed before your Creator at His coming and you will not be a success no matter what your friends and family might think of your seemingly outstanding achievements.

Yes, man has done many great things outwardly speaking but in spite of this man is still a sinner and by nature he is at war with

his maker.

The Bible says in Romans 8:8 "So then they that are in the flesh CANNOT please God."

Is a fleshly and worldly person a success?

Not in the eyes of God.

This puts man in a precarious place.

This can hardly be called success.

Most of the so called successful men and women of the world are failures according to God's standards.

Read a description man's failure as found in Romans 1:21-32

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

The description above is one of human depravity and failure simply because these individuals are outside the revealed will of God.

Such persons could care less about doing the will of God. These individuals drink iniquity like water because their nature is bent toward evil because of Adam's transgression.

The future for such failures is death and destruction.

God says all who hate me love death. Proverbs 8:36

Now show me a man or woman whom the world considers a failure but who is within the will of God and I'll show you a success in the final analysis.

That man who is a godly father and wise husband is a success

even if he lives in a worn out house.

That woman who reared her children in the nurture and fear of the Lord and changed them dirty diapers is a success if she fears the Lord and keeps God's commandments.

This is love.

Jesus said: "If you love me keep my commandments." John 14:15

To be full of God's love is to be a success and any man or woman worthy of the name Christian is successfuly filled with God's love.

Let us live so as to be a true success and avoid the shame of being a failure.
