He Couldn't Wait

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. John 21:7 NIV

The multitude of fish caught hampered the disciples from quickly getting their boat to shore. Upon Simon Peter hearing from John that it was the Lord who was standing on the shore, he could not stand to wait until they could get the boat ashore. He wanted to be with the Lord so much that he wrapped his outter garment around himself so he could get into the water and swim and walk to the shore.

When God miraculously works in our lives we grow closer to Him wanting to be in His presence in order to savor that which He has done for us, and to thank and worship Him. But we must remember that we also need to be with Him in times of trouble and difficulty. Jesus always wants to be with us, for us to know that He never leaves us. Know that the Lord is always there for you!
