It's that special time of year again.
We gather to celebrate the Savior's birth.
Joyously singing His praises with carols.
Honoring the One whose life gives us worth.

We decorate and string with bright red garlands.
This Christmas is the best yet to be.
Piling gifts for all of our loved ones,
snuggled lovingly beneath the Christmas tree.

Oh, how the lights twinkle and sparkle.
In their brilliance is an image we see.
Tis the season for joy and expectation.
Like, what's under the tree for me?

As we stand in awe of our tree's beauty,
our eyes are dazzled by the spectacle we see.
Let us also take this time to remember.
Let us give thanks for the other tree.

This other tree once stood in a forest.
It was also cut down to be used by man.
They adorned it with God's Gift of Perfection.
Hung there by nails in His hands.

This Jewish Carpenter was awash in scarlet.
A Gift to mankind for all eternity.
The Light of the World, in agony strung.
Lovingly placed there for you and me.

Oh, how His light shines in the darkness !!!
It is a beacon for all who will see.
The Gift is still here as it fell that day.
The scarlet pool beneath the other tree.
