Fingering Braille

This morning I had thoughts of my two blind friends. One, (a radio friend) for over 40 years lives about 1 ½ hours away. The other I’ve known for 10 years, (but never met face-to-face) is a missionary living in Africa. What brought them to mind?

I had just opened a Bible.

My fingers moved across a page while thinking about how precious God’s word is to me. I compared my searching to a blind person fingering Braille to read a special message. It’s as if the blind see through the sense of touch. Amazing…

I also thought of valuable jewels. Well trained jewelers wear gloves while examining gems for quality and authenticity.

If only God’s children could understand the treasure they hold when reading the Bible.

Why not ‘let your fingers do the walking?’

Take daily walks through God’s word. Treasure His word.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV).”

What makes the Bible such a treasure?

It is God’s gift to us!

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 16-17 NKJV).”
