Tracing my steps from the beginning
Until they vanished into the air...
Accepting my role in the life I once lived
Brings understanding in how life led me there...
Once seen in the mirror's reflection
Such emptiness dressed in disguise...
God allows me the strength to now understand
The mirror I viewed showed nothing but lies...
As I stood there looking deep into my eyes
There was no one I had ever known...
Always such an empty surprise
To stand there feeling all so alone...
Today there's a love I'd only heard of
As I awake to each day's new breath...
A love for my fellow I can graciously enjoy
Through the Grace of God I continue to rise -
Beyond my spiritual death....
