IS IT FAIR ?
To change a life I lived as one
To one of God's blessings -
A beautiful spouse, two daughters, a son.

For children to die young,
With no hair on their head.
While mine enjoy good health
And sleep in a comfortable bed

When I ask myself the question -
"Why is life NOT fair?"
It's then I remember I chose my path,
And decided what I'd wear.

If I find you in a struggle,
There's one thing I'll now do.
I'll dress in the clothes of "Unfair"
If it will help you make it through.

The past is the past and today is today
What tomorrow brings is not for me to say.
No matter the walk or what I may wear,
An all time great truth is that life is unfair.

Life is what life is: nothing more / nothing less
Not to accept it for its beauty
Can only worsen the best.
Through God's strength and through God's love,
Today, I find a fairness of life -
I'm now deserving of.
