At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there. John 19:41-42 NIV

It is good that the resting place for the Lord’s body was near to the site of His crucifixion, as the evening was coming on. The two men still had work to do after preparing the body. They had to carry the body to the grave site, put Him inside the tomb, and find a large enough boulder to put in front of the tomb to block access inside. This work these two men carried out, and so began the short time the lifeless body of Christ would lay inside that tomb.
