The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. John 19:32-33 NIV
Even though Jesus was now dead, a prophecy would still be fulfilled concerning Him in that not a bone of His body would be broken. It sure is amazing to me that prophecies about our Lord would be fulfilled over which He did not directly have control.
Speaking of broken, some of the most powerful times we can have in prayer with the Lord is when we come to Him broken. When we know that we have nothing left, then our weakness can be replaced by His strength.
