Psalm 23 answers seven Crisis situations of a believer. David through the school of praise went through these Crisis situations. Here David maintained his optimistic responses when shepherd for Crisis counselling. These are ensamples for believers for Jehovah Jireh is our provider.

When PURSE or money is in Crisis.

Answer is Ps. 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd. Means in original language Jehovah Raah. I lack nothing. Purse is shepherd. 1 Timothy 6:9,10. Money is not evil but love of money is evil. 1 Peter 4:11. Serve with the ability God provides. 1 Corinthians 10:13. God will make a way out. 1 Timothy 6:17-19. Lord richly provides. Sometimes God will give you what you need but not what you want. You need this out of need or greed.

When PEACE or rest is in Crisis.

Answer is Ps. 23:2a He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. John 14:27 says Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you. Philippians 4:7 says peace that transcends all understandings shall guard like military sentry our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Peace is state where all our sins are forgiven.

When PURITY or righteousness is in Crisis.

Answer is Ps. 23:2b,3 He leadeth beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Rom. 3:22 says righteousness comes from faith in Jesus. Romans 8:10 says If Christ be in us, our spirit is life because of righteousness. Righteousness is the ability to stand in the presence of God without guilt and condemnation.

When PRESENCE of God is in Crisis.

Answer is Ps. 23:4a Yea though I walk through the valley of shadow of death I will fear no evil. Matt.28:20 says Lo I am with you always to the very end of this age. Ps.23:4b for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. There is no loneliness. God will not reveal his plan but he reveals himself. God will not come with explanation but he comes with his presence.

When PROTECTION from enemies is in Crisis.

Answer is Ps. 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Deuteronomy 28:7 says If you obey Lord, then enemies will come in one direction and flee in seven directions. God will never leave you or forsake you. Cup runneth over means cup of the Lord’s banquet. Proverbs 3:5, 6 speaks of security.

When PROSPERITY is in Crisis.

Answer is Ps. 23:6a Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Mk. 10:30 suffered for Christ rewarded with hundred times on earth and also eternal life in heaven. Deuteronomy 28 says God will open the heavens and pour blessings on believers.

When PLACE is in Crisis.

Answer is Ps. 23:6b And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Place is guaranteed. John 14:1-3 Mansions are there Jesus went to prepare place for us. Rev 21 speaks that New Jerusalem city is guaranteed.
