Why was Pilate more afraid? I believe his spirit was trying to tell him something. Also, his wife had sent him a message saying to have nothing to do with the innocent man as she had suffered in a dream because of Jesus. Notice his wife said innocent man. I think Pilate truly believed Jesus was innocent, but no matter what he attempted to do, the Jewish authorities would not allow him to save Jesus.
I wonder what Pilate thought after Jesus’ resurrection. We who believe in Jesus have been resurrected after our death to our sin filled life. We are no longer a slave to sin. Praise the Lord for His mercy, grace and deliverance. So much He has done for us!
