No Case Against Him

But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.” John 19:6b NIV

Again, Pilate tells the Jewish leaders to take Jesus and deal with Him as they wish. Pilate really wanted nothing to do with His execution, as he found no charge against Him. Pilate had the right idea but, could not back it up with his action. Pilate thought the flogging should have been plenty of punishment to satisfy these men, but it was not to be.

Do we at times say that we will do something which the Lord has directed us to do, yet fail to back it up by our actions? I am sure we must, at some point say that yes, we have at times failed to back up with action words we have uttered to the Lord in prayer. He is merciful, though, and willing to forgive us.
