Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” John 18:37b NIV
Here Jesus tells Pilate the purpose for Him being born and coming into this world. This world will not speak to you about real truth. It will only feed you its lies about instant gratification and storing up for oneself. To hear the real Truth one must come to Jesus Christ, listen to His word and obey Him. One must give their life over to Christ. Then one will be lead in the way of Truth. Without the real Truth one is lost, living according to the desires of this world.
