These fountains of gold,

Let them return to dust,

The fame and the recognition,

Slips through my fingers,

And dissipates as soon as it came,

The feast laid upon my table,

Could not feed my hungry soul,

The nights of wild adventure,

Leave me wandering aimlessly,

The deceitful road to happiness,

Keeps me chasing the wind,

The desire for more,

Leads me blind into a pit,

While the glory of my work,

Disappears with time,

As my home, built firmly on sand,

Crumbles under the pressure,

Its very foundations,

Washed away by the storm,

Yet my heart holds firmly,

To the promises of lasting treasures,

And true life forevermore,

Found in Christ,

While the promises of this world,

Recede into thin air.
