Are You Warm Enough?

It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself. John 18:18 NIV

I guess Peter did not realize that he was playing with fire. He had just been asked if he was a disciple of Jesus, and yet he denied it. He must not have really thought about what he had done, or I believe he would have wanted to get away from people before he would be questioned again.

Do we at times play with fire? Do we allow ourselves to be in tempting positions which may cause us to stray from the desires of Christ? Why do we do this? We should realize that temptation is to be avoided. Ask the Lord to help us in times of temptation and deliver us from evil. We don’t need to play with fire.
