Rights Of The Righteous

"Once I was young, and now I am old
Yet I have never seen the godly
abandoned or their children begging
for bread." Psalm 37:25. New Living Translation (NLT).

The Righteous or the Godly has many rights and privileges. These are undeniable ones because they come from the Righteous God who is ever faithful.

One of such rights is preservation. No matter what happens, the Righteous will be preserved. His Creator never gives up on him. He is never left to himself to sought things out. The words of the writer of Psalm 37 in verse 25 quoted above confirm this truth. He penned those words from his personal experience that spans many years from his youthful years to old age. He knows what he says.

This was the case with Job, the Righteous. He was attacked by Satan the devil to destroy what Job had. In all his negative experience the Lord was with him. He preserved him that he was not consumed. That is preservation at work.

When Satan attacked Job's possessions, he was warned by the Lord,
"Do whatever you want with everything he possess, but don't
harm him physically." Job 1:12. NLT.

That is preservation for you. The Lord does this in every phase of life. When Satan attacked Job's health when authorised to do so, a boundary was set for him that he could not go beyond. The Righteous is preserved.
" The instruction to Satan setting a limit to his operation is,
" All right, do with him as you please. But spare his life." Job 2:6.

The Lord will always preserve the life of the Righteous. He will not allow his life to be affected negatively ; after all the Lord is the Giver of life. Abundance of life is with Him. He will not fail to grant the Righteous abundant life.

No matter what happened, the Righteous will be preserved.

There is the need to state it here that the Righteous does not disappoint the Lord himself. How does he do this?

He maintains his integrity before the only Preserver of life, God. In all his trials and troubles, the Holy Bible states,
"in all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God." Job 1:22.

In the same vein, when his body was attacked, this is recorded about him,
"So in all this, Job said nothing wrong." Job 2:10(d). So long Job carried out his duty as a Righteous man, the Lord did not fail to preserve him.

According to the writer of the opening quote of this piece, it will be observed that righteousness of the righteous will not only benefit the Righteous but those who are his, most especially where others around him choose to see the Righteous as a pattern to follow and they do so.

The children of the Righteous do not beg for bread when he is alive or after his demise. This is because righteousness will always speak. This becomes clear from the statement of Jacob in Genesis 30:33
"So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face." King James Version.

Dearly beloved, how Righteous are you? I am not talking of your righteousness before you or any hypocrite but before God and those who fear Him? Therefore, it is expedient for you to walk righteously before your Creator. It will preserve you and all who are yours. It will do this while you are alive and after your departure from this earth.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
