The world says Christmas is about a bearded man in a red suit who passes out gifts to the masses. I agree! (Whoa, did I just say that?) Yes I did, here's why:

1. He wore a red hat. A crown of thick and sharp horns was placed on his head, piercing the skin, causing much blood to cover his head (John 19:2).

2. He wore a red suit. He was brutally whipped with a device that had crushed bone and metal shavings on the end. This made deep cuts down to his bones. His torso and lower body were covered with blood (Mark 15:15). To add injury to insult, after they killed him, a spear was thrust in his side. What came out? You guessed it - blood.

3. He wore a beard. It was a disgrace for any male in his culture to have any part of his beard removed. The rogues who killed him even plucked it out (Isaiah 50:6).

4. He continues to give the best gift possible - eternal life (John 10:27-28).

World I agree. Christmas is about a man with five letters in his name - Jesus!
