In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 16:23 NIV

The time spoken of herein would be after the disciples had received the Holy Spirit. The Spirit directs the believer in the ways of the Lord, revealing all which the Lord has taught. Thus, no need is required to ask Jesus more about that which He had done.

With the Spirit indwelling, the believer is attune to that which the Lord desires and as such that for which we ask aligns with His desires. Our prayers are answered, maybe not exactly in the manner we had anticipated, but in the way that best meets that for which we ask. We ask that in so receiving the Lord is glorified and the Father.

Filled with the Spirt, ask the Lord in His name. He shall provide!
