Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. John 16:20 NIV

What an awful feeling, weeping and mourning while the world around you rejoices. How cruel it sounds. We weep and mourn at the loss of a loved one. If they were a believer though, and we take the focus off what we feel at our loss, we can rejoice at our loved one being with the Lord. And we can also rejoice and be joyful in knowing that one day we shall be with them in heaven. All along, the world will “rejoice” in their worldly ways, not realizing the ultimate doom which awaits them unless they give themselves over to Christ.
