HAVING A BAD DAY?

Have you ever had a bad day? Sometimes I feel like I have days, or even weeks, full of drama. If you’re married, maybe you’ve experienced this as well. We can do a million great things—ok maybe not a million—but the point is, the one time we mess up it seems to erase all the positive things we’ve done. But I digress …

The bottom line is—we all have bad days. No matter how hard we try to make smart choices, we still make decisions that end up blowing up in our faces. Why does every decision, whether good or bad, have consequences? No one enjoys experiencing difficult times or dealing with situations that don’t turn out the way we expect … especially when we thought God was guiding us. There’s nothing worse than when everything falls apart and we wonder if, once again, we misinterpreted God’s will. It's during these times we feel hopeless, abandoned, and all alone…

Well, God’s Word says that we will suffer and go through difficult times, because we live in a fallen world and have sinful natures. “… after we have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish us.” (1 Peter 5:10 ESV)

What do you do when you’re having a bad day? Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, we need to remember that in all circumstances, we can lean on the God of all grace who promises to restore us!
