When I’m gone, what is it that you feel
When I was around your words didn’t seem real
The actions didn’t follow suit to what you made known
Which is why this gap between us has now since grown

When I’m gone, what is it that you see
When I was around you always seemed so happy
Then again, was it all an act or something that became empty
Which is why this time apart became necessary

When I’m gone, what is it that you think about
When I was around you didn’t seem to have any doubt
However, there were times when you preferred to have others around
Didn’t give me the same essence of joy that was always once found

When I’m gone, what is it that you do
When I was there you were always able to pull through
Nothing was able to hinder you since you had extra strength
The support to overcome it all without worry of problematic length

When I return, I’m curious what you’ll be like
Will we pick up where we left off easily like riding a bike
Perhaps nothing changed since you may not be aware of your change
Time will tell since that interaction happening is once again in range
