What Scares You?

Do you remember as a small child whatever made you scared? Did you tell your parents or maybe a good friend about what scared you? Now, as you grew to become an adult did what scare you shift to something else, or are you not scared of anything now? If you are scared of anything I bet you might be less willing to share this with someone else. Grown ups are not suppose to be scared, or at least admit to it. Right.

There is a thought that would scare me if I believed it could happen, but I don’t believe that it will occur. That which would really scare me is God removing me from His presence. God is steadfast in His love. God does not remove Himself from our presence. If God is not in our presence, it is not because of Him. It would be because we choose not to be in His presence. God always chooses us. He loves us with a love that cannot be matched. The question is “Do we choose God”? We might be the prodigal child, but God is the loving Father who waits patiently for the prodigal child to return to Him. He knows us and He tenderly waits. We just must see the fruitlessness in worldly ways and turn to Him. He is there and He waits for us.

Through Jesus Christ the Father offers us the Holy Spirit to dwell within. Yes, the Spirit of God living within us and guiding us that we may know and carry out the will of God.

God will not take us out of His presence. He will not take away the Holy Spirit. We, by our stubbornness and refusal to accept that which is freely offered is what would drive us out of God’s presence. Live in God’s ways and in His love. With God in your presence there is nothing that can scare you. God is mightier than all!
