Wisdom In The Womb

Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. Psalm 51:6 NIV

If you are like me, I bet you can imagine a non-believer having a field day as he speaks of what he sees as the foolishness within this passage. Well, maybe we might even question “Is It possible for a fetus to gain wisdom”? Of course, science would tell you that this is a ridiculous thought. Do we doubt God’s ability? If scripture says that God desires faithfulness even in the womb, then who are we to question that God could not impart such wisdom before the fetus later becomes a living human?

To me this verse speaks to the awesome and amazing power of God. God is in no way limited in what He can do. With God anything is possible. Why can’t we, or won’t we carry this forward with us as we move through our daily life? God has so much planned for us as individuals and also us collectively as His body of believers. Why do we attempt to limit our belief as to either what God can, or will choose to do?

Remember that Christ tells us with faith just the size of a mustard seed that we can have mountains moved to the sea. Now, I am not suggesting that we should pray for that to happen, but you get the point.

We are living in a time of great trouble within this world. Now is the time for those of us who are believers to take action and ask the Lord to take our faith to high places, to places we have never ventured before. Oh God, please give us the courage and desire to put into action our faith. Strengthen if within us. Help us to know that You, the One who can impart wisdom to a fetus can do that which can only be done with You working through faithful vessels which know You are limitless in what You can do!
