I seek the Light in the darkness above this foam
To set my course and guide me home.
As the sail unfurls to the prevailing wind, I bend my knee in prayer
To rejoice in that tiny star and to praise the One who hung it there.

I seek the Water in the dryness of this land
To quench my thirst and dampen this sand.
As the rain falls to the ground in pools, I bend my knee in prayer
To rejoice in those tiny drops and praise the One who dropped them there.

I seek the Bread in the famine of my soul
To quell the pangs of hunger and fill my Christ shaped hole
As the Spirit fills my needs, I bend my knee in prayer
To rejoice in the Spirit and praise the One who put it there.

I seek the Cross in the hopelessness of life
To give me salvation and cleanse me of this strife
As the Blood of the Lamb cleanses me, I bend my knee in prayer
To rejoice in His sacrifice and to praise Him for going there.
