It is quite hard for me to believe that those who heard the audible voice of God speaking after Christ had spoken to Him, needed to come up with an alternative explanation as to what had just occurred. Why were they not in awe of the fact that they had heard the Father speak?

How would you feel if God audibly spoke to you? I would tremble, get down on hands and knees and listen to what He had to say to me.

We seem to have preconceived beliefs as to how God works and His ways. Do we not realize that His ways our not our ways nor are His thoughts our thoughts? God does whatever He so desires, and in whatever manner He chooses to do so. We must be guided by the Holy Spirit indwelling us and in no manner place preconceived limits upon our God.
