Do you sense the desperateness in the Jewish leaders comments here? They were losing control of authority over the people to this man whom they had claimed was demon possessed. They knew they would face the wrath of Caiaphas for the failure on their part to rid themselves of this man.

Little did these men realize that it was not their will or their plan that would lead to the death of Christ, but that it was the saving plan of the Heavenly Father that would lead to the death of Christ. God’s plan also included the resurrection of Christ on the third day. Let the world know that God is in control and not man!
