Taking It To The Pharisees

But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done John 11:46 NIV

So were those who took word to the Pharisees about the accomplishments of Jesus informers of the Pharisees? I don’t believe that to be the case, as how would the Pharisees have known that Jesus would appear with the sisters and other mourners at the tomb site.

People will react differently to miracles of the Lord. Some will believe in Him outright. Some will need further convincing. And some will not believe even if they see with their own eyes.

So, the ones who went to the Pharisees, were they taking the news as proof of Christ as Messiah, demanding a response from the leaders, or were they just not convinced of Jesus’ power and deity and needed help from the established leaders? There were probably some in each of these two viewpoints for those who went to the Pharisees.

Either way, this set in motion further plans of the Pharisees to rid themselves of Jesus.
