Angry With The Devil

Can the tormenter be tormented? Yes! But only by the Creator.

The devil creates a havoc in the life of many people, troubles them to the point of self-destruction and relishes on this annihilation, however when the Savior intervenes, he pleads for his own safety.

“Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

Luke 8:28 (NKJV)

It’s surprising to see the reaction of the devil, he is completely unremorseful like many of us who love to trouble others, yet when it’s our time to bear the pain, we plead for mercy.

I once heard Reinhard Bonnke telling the reason why he often preached so aggressively and loudly, for when he sees so many people going to hell without knowing Jesus, he is deeply angry with the devil and thus he preaches with all his strength if any would listen to him and be saved.

So were many Spirit filled ministers who felt the pain of the people by the torments the devil was giving to them.

Do we feel this pain? Are we ever filled with compassion towards those who are suffering?

Often we desire to be sympathized when we are suffering, however do we not need to be also sympathetic towards those who are suffering?

May God help us to be like Him.

Jesus saw the pain that this evil possessed was going through..

“For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had often seized him, and he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness.”

Luke 8:29 (NKJV)

The devil was tossing him making his life from bad to worse. Those who are troubled by the devil through fear and anxiety, through addictions, cry through the entire path of their evil doings, for they are led as prisoners by the devil who has bound them with chains of sin.

Christ wants to step into this situation and command the devil out. He is very angry with what the devil is doing and wants to set the sufferers free.

Often the devil is administering his deceits in sugar coated circumstances, and thus the bitter results cannot be anticipated in the beginning, then when he has them caught as if in a fish hook, he plays with them and has fun, yet the Lord wants to put an end to this – He wants to step in and lead us to real joy in Him.

There is nothing impossible for our Lord. He can deliver you and use you to deliver many who are suffering under the bondage of sin.

Let’s pray and make ourselves available that the Lord may reach many such who are writhing in pain tormented by the devil-the Savior can set them free.
