In a year that had many ups and downs
I hope you can move forward with more smiles than frowns
An unexpected pandemic that swept the globe
Taking away many people’s sanity and hope

I know that the tick of the clock won’t fix the issues
I just hope that this next year we won’t require as many tissues
The crying that took place from the lives lost
Will hopefully be remedied with something that doesn’t have a high cost

We always hear the phrase a December to remember
I just hope that the memories aren’t burning like ember
There is a fire out there that still needs to cease
So may our actions help us break the chains to be released

Turmoil will unfortunately always exist
The fact remains there are options to still experience bliss
Nothing can defeat the victory that was had and will come again
Just please keep your head up so you can experience the win
