"And He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, where He knelt down and prayed, 'Father if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.' Then an angel from heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him.…' Luke 22:42-44
Is this not the crux of our Christian life?
Life is the immersion in Father's presence, laying aside human wanting and allowing His authentic, genuine, sincere, and divine love to flow in free measures exchanging my desires with His. It is in the balm of supernatural grace that moves me into the other-worldly spirit-being where He dwells within, granting wisdom, discernment, and godly desires.
The deepest longing is that the life of Christ, whose life is intertwined in mine, is whose life is desire, wanting, and fulfillment in my soul.
No matter what result I may want, it must be placed on the altar of surrender and as I center my being in the perfect, righteous, life in Christ, his life flows unrestricted, and his desires solidify mine.
The greater purposes that Father has ordained and designed to fulfill in and through humans is discovered in an attitude of genuineness and motivated in an atmosphere of love.
If Jesus laid aside his own wanting in preference to Father's strongest desires that a greater good would be fulfilled that all peoples might know this life, this love and this being --- how much more is my need to lay aside human wanting and fleshly inclinations and hide my life in the life of Christ ---- for the greater purposes that He has ordained and designed to fulfill in and through the tattered frame of my frail humanness?
