Prayer For A Friend Moving Away

Dear Lord,

I thank you for my dear friend and sibling in Christ,

And for the wonderful joy and encouragement they have been to me,

Although I am saddened that we will soon be apart from each other,

I thank you for this opportunity they have to continue serving you in a new place,

So Lord, please comfort them and give them strength,

As they deal with the emotions of leaving friends, family and a familiar lifestyle behind,

Please give them wisdom in being able to prepare for this move well,

And provide them with a smooth transition to their new location,

Although there are many unknowns in regards to travelling to a new place,

I pray that you would help them to keep casting their anxieties to you,

May they know your peace as they continue to trust in you to provide for their daily needs,

And give them courage and as they prepare to step outside their comfort zone,

I pray for patience and understanding for them as they adapt to a new lifestyle,

And may they be open to embracing the opportunities you give them through this move,

Please use the challenges of this transition period to strengthen my friend’s faith,

And may you help them to flourish in their new location,

I pray that you would empower them for whatever work you have given them to do there,

And provide them with opportunities to build new meaningful relationships,

Please help them to connect with a Bible believing church community over there,

And to contribute to its ministry through the gifts and resources you have given them,

May you continue to use my friend to spread the gospel wherever they go,

So that others would be brought to faith in Christ through their witness,

Lord, please bless with them with safe travel to their new location,

And I pray for opportunities to be able to see them again soon.

This is a BEAUTIFUL Prayer, Stephen Wong, written by someone who has a CLOSE relationship with God. I "tweaked" it just a bit so it would fit for a couple leaving our church after many years, to move closer to their children and grandchildren. They gave such joyful service and witness to us and I thank you for giving me the PERFECT words for our Bible Class to say Godspeed to them.

This is such an anointed pray - covering do many aspects of one's life. Really calling down blessings on the friends life with Holy Ghost fire!

Thank you for posting this prayer. It's very close to what I want to pray and I've modified it slightly to pray for both the leaving person and those left behind for a meeting we have tonight.
