Are We Blind As Well?

Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?" John 9:40 NIV

Pride and anger on the part of the Pharisees present resulted in them asking Jesus if they were also blind. I am sure they understood that this was beyond physical blindness. How could they who diligently studied the scriptures be blind to what God sought? They truly felt offended by what the Lord had said, yet they were totally oblivious to their spiritual blindness. They felt they totally understood God, but in reality they really understood nothing about what was important to God. They were often warned by the Lord, yet they took no action to change their hearts.

Do you ever wonder if you might be blind to some of God’s will for you? Remember His thoughts are not your thoughts nor His ways your ways. Keep a humble and contrite heart and always ask the Holy Spirit to direct you in God’s ways.
