Is a Rwandan Genocide Coming to the United States?

In the weeks leading up to the April 1994 Rwandan Genocide, friends ate dinner with friends, families gathered as children played and people went about their daily lives.

Then all hell broke loose and Rwandans killed nearly 1 million Rwandans over the course of 100 days. Families killed one another. Next door neighbors, friends yesterday, turned against each other. Those in power killed those not in power. And it was the government that determined the power structure and allowed it to happen.

I’ve been to Rwanda and the genocide museums and other memorials.  I’ve seen the dried bones, heard the stories and toured the result of all the carnage. Churches were not safe havens, one I entered was turned into a House of Death, many were hacked to death by machetes as other victims with money paid for a quick death from a bullet rather than face the brutal torture and often rape that all ended the same way.

As I tried absorbing and understanding the method employed to the killing methodology while viewing horrific photos, reading placards and noticing where machetes punctured any one of the hundreds of skulls on display, I wondered if a mass genocide could ever arise in the United States when neighbors would kill their neighbors and family members would pull the trigger on no longer loved ones.

I see that possibility greater than ever today as the victors of the 2020 presidential election openly call for the end of Donald Trump and those who supported him. Like a battle cry for their compliant soldiers.

Come on, man.

If you think the left is not consumed by a demonic hatred of those they disagree with and think my assumption here qualifies me for right wing conspiracy theorist, think again. On national television political pundit Jennifer Rubin said:

“It’s not only that Trump has to lose, all his enablers have to lose. We have to collectively burn down the Republican Party. We have to level them. Because if there are survivors....they will do it again.”

I have no idea who Ms. Rubin is or what qualifies her to be on TV and talk politics, however, what she said amounts to the systematic killing of Donald Trump and those who voted for him.

Tell me I’m wrong. And then back it up.

Make no mistake Jennifer Rubin not only promotes but would participate in the killing of those who disagree with her.

Just like ISIS.

Just a few weeks ago, the website https://donaldtrump.watch/ told visitors to find the Trump racists in their neighborhood listing the name and address of every American that gave to the Trump campaign. Yes, you can go on there and see if your neighbor gave to Donald Trump. Today, their hit list unfolds a wee bit different than a few weeks ago, looking all innocent and informative like while redirecting to https://donor.watch/ but make no mistake, the Jennifer Rubin’s of this world will use this to figure out who to kill first.

In a Washington Times article, supporters of Joe Biden have set up the “Trump Accountability Project” which aims to destroy anyone who worked to elect Trump, staffed his government or funded his campaign.  New York Rep. Alexander Ocasio-Cortez wants her followers to archive “Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future.”

Remember two years ago when California Rep. Maxine Waters urged her followers to harass Trump supporters? Did you forget all the assassination rhetoric against Trump, something also insinuated by Ms. Waters, echoed by celebrities and other political pundits who developed a visceral hate against a man who simply ran on the platform of making America great again.

And, Michelle Obama suggested those who didn’t vote for Biden supported “lies, hate, chaos and division.” Kind of ironic coming from the wife of the man who blamed the police while speaking at an officer’s funeral in Dallas, while president.

Finally, sportscaster turned political pundit Keith Olbermann said prior to the November Presidential election: “The task is twofold. The terrorist Trump must be defeated, must be destroyed, must be devoured at the ballot box, and he and his enablers and his supporters and his collaborators...must be prosecuted and convicted and removed from our society...the fight is not just to win an election but to win it by enough to chase, at least for the moment, Trump and the maggots off the stage."

Holy Moly, did Olbermann start his broadcast career in Rwanda?

I could add to this list of pot stirring and violent hyperbole. It goes on and on and on without so much of any sort of condemnation or prosecution. You think this doesn’t rev up the base and give them justification to do the dirty work?

In Matthew 10:21, Jesus says in relation to the End Times that “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.”

I know of a son who has completely shunned his parents for voting Trump in 2016. He has gone so far as to block his number.  This family eventually moved out of state without ever telling him. I know of another who also cut off communication from his family for a time. All because of Trump.

The Rwandan Genocide pitted the Hutus against the Tutsis but determining who was who was arbitrary. One identification was the number of cows someone had, another based on facial features. Again, the government decided, and ID cards given to the Tutsis proved who they were that eventually helped in the mass extermination of the right people. Rwandans knew who was who and once the green light was given the slaughter began.

In the United States we don’t have the Hutus and Tutsis but we do have Republicans and Democrats. One side has already voiced their desires of what they want to see happen with the other side, now they have the power. No wonder Biden said “Bingo” when asked about whether he wants to disarm gun owners. This leaves the Tutsis defenseless against the Hutus.

If you think the idea of Americans slaughtering their neighbors and family members killing their kin all because of political differences comes from paranoid delusion, then what does Ms. Rubin mean when she says “We have to level them. Because if there are survivors....they will do it again”?

Besides, we’ve seen it before.

And, not just in Rwanda.
