Questioning The Parents

“Is this your son?” they asked. “Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?” John 9:19 NIV

This reminds me of a couple of scenarios from today’s time. One would be a parent teacher conference to discuss a student’s performance. If performance is unsatisfactory the teacher might ask the parents questions to see if a possible cause for the performance can be determined. Another example would be a therapist speaking with a teen or younger child and then later calling the parents in and having a group meeting.

The Pharisees needed to resolve the issue with this man and hoped their questions would bring something to light to explain the situation. The problem actually was that the Pharisees just would not accept the truth.
